Old School Gallery, Alnmouth, Northumberland
Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March 2017 10am – 4pm
£90 for 2days
A two-day workshop looking at ways of gathering information in sketchbooks in the beautiful surroundings of Alnmouth before translating these drawings into a two-colour lino cut. Students will spend time considering how to design an image before cutting a single colour key block design. Students will be shown how to create a second plate to add colour and interest to the design. The prints created will be small scale and hand-burnished, providing an insight into ways of making prints without the need for expensive materials and equipment. Inspiration will be taken from the work of Edward Bawden, Clare Curtis and Melvyn Evans. Please visit the website for more details: http://www.theoldschoolgallery.co.uk
