This was the last piece I made on the residency week. I returned to a favourite spot in the soft afternoon light, and worked slowly moving between the details of the foliage in the foreground and the light on the water and horizon beyond. At one point a cuckoo flew past and bounced over the seawall behind me; a family of Canada geese swam sleepily by; numerous walkers and swimmers ambled past me en route somewhere. It was a lovely conclusion to my time in this special area.
