Leith School of Art, 25 North Junction Street, Edinburgh, EH6 6HW
This experimental two-day workshop will explore the process of translating expressive drawings into print. The first day will begin with quick drawing exercises looking at creative mark-making and creating imaginative compositions. These ideas will then be developed into mixed media sustained drawings which will explore working in layers of mark and colour. On the second day, students will translate their drawings into card-cut plates which will be printed with a press to create a series of relief prints. The work of Charles Shearer, Katherine Jones and Mary Fedden will provide inspiration. Please visit the School's website for more information and to book.
